Happy Green Day!

St. Patrick's Day is one of my favorite holidays with my kids. I love that we have traditions from both of our families, and we've come up with some of our own too. I love being a leprechaun for a day and tricking my girls!! Here is some of the fun we had this year!

Our first tradition comes from Jason's family. We all set our shoes outside of our door, and during the night the leprechauns come and fill them with candy. The girls so lovingly set Jason and my shoes too.

They got chocolate gold coins this year.

Lily was pretty excited to find candy in her shoe. She didn't really know what was going on, but finding candy first thing in the morning is never bad.
Here comes the tradition from my family--the leprechauns turn everything green. And I do mean EVERYTHING! Starting with the milk....
And the eggs... We always make them green eggs and ham and read the story to them during breakfast! They love a story in the morning.
Here are my cute green girls!
More green stuff... green tuna sandwiches and green yogurt. The silly leprechauns also put magic dust in our water that turns it into invisible juice! (I get a really fun reaction from this one!) Lily loved this lunch!
St. Patty's fell on dance day, so while at grandma's the girls got a cupcake with green frosting. Lily practically inhaled hers.
I also made a fun jello-y dessert for the girls that they all loved!
I seriously get giddy each year on St. Patricks. I know, I'm a dork, but I love that my kids are still young enough to believe in leprechauns and get really excited over everything that happens throughout the day. Happy St. Patricks Day!!

How fun! I need to be more excited, and do fun things like that! I do the milk thing and thought about eggs, but stingy little Emma wouldn't eat them, so I didn't. What a FUN day for your cute little girls!

Lucky comes to our house and turns our milk green too. He then comes back sometime during the day and leaves clues so that we can find our hidden treasure! They get so excited over this stuff it is too hard to pass up.
