Easter Fun

Our Easter fun this year started out a few weeks before the holiday. We had Grandma's Annual Easter candy making party. We decided to make rice krispie bunnies and bears and "twix" pretzels. The kids had a great time getting messy and having some yummy stuff to eat!

For Easter, Savannah had a few days off school, so we went up to Star Valley, Wyoming to my grandma's house and spent some time. We had a fun time. Michaela loved to sit and talk or sing to my grandma. It was so sweet. The girls loved playing in the snow and playing with all their cousins. Lily got some make-up on to turn her into the Easter Bunny. Savannah had heard a story at school that inspired her to make bookmarks and sell them. While the whole family was together she opened up shop and made a little bit of money. It was really cute to see her so excited. She was even more excited when I told her she needed to pay tithing on what she made!

We went and saw the Easter Bunny and participated in the local egg hunt. It was pretty cool. Not only did they get some candy, but lots of eggs had vouchers from local businesses. Lily got a gold dollar from the bank, Savannah got a free movie rental, Michaela got a free beanie bear, and all of them got a free fry coupon from Burger King. They were so excited to cash in for their prizes!! We had our family egg hunt on Saturday. It was fun tromping through the snow for our eggs. Lily LOVED the egg hunts. Then finding candy in the eggs made it ten times better!! That night, we made our Easter bags. We always make a bunny out of a brown paper grocery bag. It is so fun to see the creativity of my kids. Michaela's was quite a creation this year. It was very fitting for her! Lily just scribbled, and Savannah wanted to cut out the ears and draw an adorable little face.

After the kids went to bed each night, it was fun for all of the adults to sit around and gab. We watched some fun movies, talked about hilarious things, and even had some leg wrestling!

Easter morning was fun. The girls loved finding what the Easter Bunny had given them. We had an Easter Brunch all together. We had bunny bread with the tummy cut out and dip in the middle with veggies, and breakfast casserole. It was all very yummy. We didn't go to church, because my grandma can't go anymore, but the priests in the ward brought us the sacrament, which was a cool experience for me and my kids. I am looking forward to next week when my girls can wear all their new Easter stuff!

My brother Dennis wanted to try out his hand at doing girls' hair. He first tried on Lily, which was probably not the best idea. She didn't want to sit still even with distractions, and got really mad after a while because he wasn't fast enough for her. So then he tried Savannah. She was much better at sitting still for him. For a first try, he did a pretty good job! Michaela wanted Aunt Julie to then do her hair!!

Lily spent the weekend saying all kinds of new words. She says the names of her cousins her age; Pheobe and Zack. She also learned a pretty fun word...."peeps". Her new favorite candy. We have to keep them out of sight or she wants the entire package. That is a no-no!!!

We drove home and had a few hours together as a family before bedtime. It was a fun night. We had a great Easter this year and hope everyone else did too! Also, along with my previous post, we are expecting another little one and are very excited. We will be welcoming him or her to our home around September 24. Thanks for all the nice wishes!

Here are some pictures of all our Easter fun!!! (WARNING: There are a lot!!)

Cute pics I love the one of Lily eating the plastic Cheeto sack. I also saw what must have been one of the only times Lily figured how to sit in Zack's chair.
