A few tidbits

Ok, it's probably more than just a "few" tidbits, but I didn't want to make 9 separate entries! We have been having a busy and crazy summer. I keep thinking "once ____ happens, it will slow down" but it hasn't yet. That's ok. I love spending time with my kiddos! This is what we have been up to the past several weeks:

Our ward play date a couple weeks ago was an Ice Cream Party! My neighbor who has put all of these together is so awesome. We made 3 different kinds of ice cream, and she had 4 others she had pre-made, PLUS all the toppings!! Talk about ice cream heaven!! My girls loved it all! Michaela made a huge mess dishing herself up, and then got too full to eat it all. Lily kept asking for "mo mo mo", and Savannah loved trying all the kinds. They had fun playing and running around with their friends, and it was nice to visit with other adults for a while.

Savannah has officially lost her two front teeth! She lost the first of the two while I was at girls camp, and it was worth gold! The tooth fairy must have been at her last stop, because she basically just dumped out a ton of change and put it under Savannah's pillow! The tooth fairy needs to understand that there are many more teeth to still fall out though, and that will not be the going rate!

We have been making shape pancakes with an old ketchup bottle. The girls love it because I let them try to make their own, and they are actually eating really well. Savannah is my most picky breakfast eater, and she downs at least 3 of these a morning!! We definitely had a learning curve, but are having fun spelling and coming up with more shapes!!

We went another day to the pool with our cousins, aunts and grandma. My girls absolutely love going! Hopefully we can make it one night with daddy!!

Our stake had an awesome neighborhood breakfast every summer, and we love taking our girls. We have yummy food, and then tons of activities for the kids. A fish pond, water slide, rocket launch, train, bounce house, and face/fingernail painting! They also have cotton candy and sno cones--perfect for a hot day! My sister and her two kids came down and went with us this year. Tons of fun had by all!!

Near the beginning of the summer, my sister talked to me about doing a weekly play date at a different park. I was very enthused about this and said of course!! With our summers being so absolutely crazy, last week, we finally made it to our first park play date!! Yay!! We went to the "pyramid park" up in copperton. One of our favs from when we were kids. They have updated a lot of it, but still have the pyramid and the huge tires!! My kids had a blast playing. With all the other stuff we have been doing this summer, going to a park, has not been happening very much!

My brother Dennis and his wife Julie, invited us over to have s'mores one night last week. My girls love to roast marshmallows! Lily ate the chocolate out of hers first and then got the marshmallow covered graham cracker stuck to her hands. It was pretty funny watching her try to get it off. Dennis decided that to clean her off, we should just strip her and he would hose her down. As soon as she was bare-bummed, she went and peed on his basketball court! Then he chased her down with the hose, until she was up against the fence. Poor Lily! I'm sure any neighbors looking out their windows got quite a show!!

Our family finally got the opportunity to go to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house. We went in two different shifts because of everything else going on. Savannah and Michaela came with me and the young women. They really liked being there with the older girls. The next night, they were having a sleepover at Dennis & Julie's, so Jason and I took Lily through. She loved all the pictures of Jesus and the lights. It was fun for me to go twice, although my feet sure hurt from walking in heels up and down all those stairs!

We have really been having so much fun together. We still have some fun things lined up before school starts, and we are working on getting new rooms all put together before baby brother shows up. We hope everyone else is having a great summer too!!

This has been a crazy busy month! I'm glad to see you've had a lot of fun even though it's been crazy. I really need to catch up on posts too but there's so much to catch up on! Let's get together in the next 3 1/2 weeks before I have to move. I'd love to see you!

Fun summer! We need to get together. We should have a get-together with Heather before she leaves! How about we all meet at a park, or we could have a pot luck dinner at our place and let the kids play on the play ground or go swimming. Anything will work.
