At Savannah's school, in first grade, they have a Super Student every week. All the kids who are good in class that week go to a special party with all the other classes, and they pick a "Super Student" for the next week. That person gets to make a poster all about them and the things they like. They also get to do special helper things in their class. Savannah was so excited about it the first week of school, and was kind of sad when she wasn't picked. I told her it was ok, and there would be plenty of other weeks. Luckily, she didn't have to wait long, and was picked at the end of the 2nd week to be super student! She loved making her poster and getting to be the special helper every day. One of the other teachers in first grade is in my ward, and told me that Savannah was so funny when she was picked. They asked her what she did to become the super student, and she said she just tried "really hard" to be the super student!

When I was in 1st grade I was super student and one of the fill-in-the-blank questions was "Favorite Food." I wrote- samples from the grocery store. My mom was so embarassed that THAT was my favorite food.
