Our family has had quite a few fun activities lately. First, mom got to go on dates with Michaela and Lily. In a few weeks, daddy will go on dates with all of the girls.
First, my date with Michaela. I had a bunch of coupons from my birthday, so I decided to use those to make our dates cheaper! Michaela and I got to go to Souper Salad. She was the best choice to take there, since she is the least picky child and actually LOVES salad! She had so much fun going through the line picking EVERYTHING and piling it on her plate. She actually ate quite a bit of what she chose. She couldn’t finish it ALL, however, because she had to save room for ice cream! We had so much fun talking together. She is such a little character! It was good for us to do something special together just her and I!!
Next, I got to go on a date with Lily. We went out for ice cream at Baskin-Robbins. She had such a hard time deciding on a flavor, since there were so many!! But she finally settled on some cupcake frosting ice cream. (Sounded gross to me, but she loved it!) She was hilarious!! She talked so much, that her ice cream would just drip and drip all over her!! She loved going though, and keeps telling me I can go on another ice cream date with her again!
It’s started to get so nice outside, and we have sure enjoyed being out together as a family. My tulips were so pretty this year!! Lily loved to look and occasionally pick one!
Savannah and Michaela were invited to their cousin Emma’s 4-year-old birthday party. It was a Pinkalicious party, and it was DARLING!! THe girls had a great time playing games, making bracelets, and eating PINK food!!
Jason and I got to go to the 2nd annual “Adult Prom” that my friend Brenda put together. It was such a great night!! We had good food, fun conversation, prizes, dancing and a night out!! We love this new tradition and can’t wait until next year!!
After 8 1/2 years of marriage and Jason telling my parents how much they would love Pilipino food, we finally invited them over for dinner so he could show off his mad skills! He made Adobo, Tocino, Pancit, Lumpia, Spanish bread and Pan de Coco. It was all so yummy! It was like a Philippine Thanksgiving!
I had another birthday. I think about that primary song “one year older and wiser too” and wonder why I feel more and more like I am losing my mind than getting wiser! Oh well! It was a fabulous day! I had visitors and phone calls, and they were so much fun. My family doted on me. The girls kept making me cards and presents that were darling. Jason got me a cheesecake from Schmidt's Bakery for my cake!!! YUM! He also got me an outdoor umbrella, reclining patio chairs and table, Sherlock Holmes, and a willow tree statue. The willow tree is a mommy holding her little boy, and I pretty much started bawling when I opened it! Everyone was so wonderful! I am so lucky to have the family I do!
We also celebrated Mother’s Day. The girls all made me such cute gifts in school and in primary. Lily and Michaela both took their gifts back though, because they liked them so much! I love my children so much and it’s great to have a day to relax and think about the joy it is to be a mother! I am also so grateful to my own mom and Jason’s mom for all they do for our family!! We love them so much!
We have had a great month so far, and can’t believe it is already half over. Savannah is down to less than three weeks left of school. She has very mixed emotions. Michaela is getting super excited for Kindergarten in the fall. All the kids are excited for warmer “pool” weather. Mommy is excited for summer and all the things we are already planning! Daddy is looking forward to time off for vacations! We hope to have many fun adventures!!

I love that you guys go on dates with your kids! What a great tradition! We'll probably do that one day also. I have seriously always wanted to throw some sort of "adult prom" thing because I love to get all dressed up and stuff! That's so fun that you get to do that every year! Happy birthday and Mother's Day also! (Sarah loved the flower that she made in nursery also. It was more of a mother's day gift because it kept her entertained :))
Yes, getting together is a MUST!! You seriously are the cutest mom! I wish we were next door neighbors!
You are so fun. You're always doing the best things with your girls. I so look up to you when it comes to being a good parent. You're just the right amount of fun with a healthy dose of discipline. Happy Birthday! You look so cute in your pictures... I hope I look that good with Vivian is 8 months!
That's so fun that you do dates with your kids! It reminded me that my parents used to do that, we loved it! So fun!!
