Well, we haven’t really been up to a lot lately, but there are a few things worth noting. Jared can sit by himself! He is still pretty wobbly, but really enjoys sitting and playing with a toy for a few minutes! I can’t believe how fast this little guy is growing! He is such a fun addition to our family, and really such an easy going kid!
We have also been doing a little construction work to our house. When we bought our house a little over three years ago, the previous owners had created an addition onto the master bedroom in the back to create a mini apartment. (Believe me, it was MINI!) Of course we didn’t intend to use the space as an apartment, so it has actually been a huge master suite with a little nook room off of the main bedroom. It’s been fun, and we have enjoyed the extra space. There were just a couple of drawbacks. One, we had a kitchen sink in our bedroom. Two, there is tile in half of the bedroom, and Last, but most devastating, there was NO master closet. What a bummer! We hung some rods in the space that used to be for the fridge, and called it good for now. Well, we made the decision this year, that it was time to build our dream closet! So we hired this guy:
My brother-in-law Alan, and he did an AWESOME job! Seriously, if you want any building done, this is the guy to call!
This is what our closet looked like before: (excuse the giant mess, this was during construction)
This is the wall being built in our little nook room.
And this is the after:
Note the gazillions of shelves, tons of rod space, the wonderful storage/x-mas gift hiding area on top, and most of all, the shoe WALL. Yup! I designed myself a shoe wall and it is GLORIOUS!!! Jason gets one shelf of it for now, but if my shoes need the room, his will be ousted! I am in Heaven! It is a great closet. I don’t have any pictures of it filled, but the fabulous thing is, there is still tons of room for more! I don’t know that I will ever fill all the space, but it’s sure nice to have it there!
Our last little tidbit of fun was Savannah and Michaela’s dance competition last Saturday. They were so excited to dance for us, and they did such a great job! Here they are in their cute costumes and on stage during parts of their dances!!
Grandma Ferguson came to watch and brought the girls a bouquet of flower suckers! They also both got a trophy! Lily danced along to all of the dances. She can’t wait to be in dance herself. Jared was perfect as always, and even though he was tired and hungry, he was very well behaved!! We can’t wait for their recital coming up in a few weeks!!
Well, that’s what we have been up to, so consider yourself updated!!
