January

January is a pretty slow month for the most part.  We have been just trying to put ourselves back together after the craziness of the holidays, and the extra craziness of all of our other events!  We did manage to make a few fun memories though!

Jared started SUNBEAMS!!!  Jason and I are the lucky ones who get to be his teachers!  We absolutely LOVE it!  He had a few rough Sunday’s right at first, but has quickly gotten used to his new schedule and is doing a great job being reverent and listening!  He loves singing time, and loves that we have been learning “My Heavenly Father Loves Me”.  We sing this song MANY times a day, and my favorite part is when he sings “ look at the blue blue blue sky!”  So adorable!! 

Savannah got the opportunity to go with the other 4th graders on a ski day!!  She was so excited about this, and while I was kind of nervous, I did the appropriate mom thing, and let her go anyway!!  She did look pretty stinkin’ cute in her ski gear!!  She loved it, and can’t wait for her next opportunity to go.  Since neither Jason nor I have EVER been skiing, she might have better luck asking her Aunt Megan to take her sometime!! :)

The newest member of the Ferguson clan, Dennis Murray “Chip” was born this month, and I got to sneak out one night leaving Savannah in charge to go and see him up at the hospital!  He is a cute little guy with the most awesome hair ever!!

The girls had a nice 4-day weekend for Martin Luther King day, and insisted on doing some adventuring.  (They get jealous when they find out things Jared and Lily get to do!)  So, we decided to take them to Scheel’s.  Easily, the best winter playplace!!  They loved the giant fishtank, the many picture boxes, and of course the Ferris wheel!  We also found the little jungle gym playland for kids, and they had a blast playing there as well!

We had a few little sickies in our house right after Chip was brought home, but we finally all felt good enough to run over and meet the little guy.  The girls all went crazy over his hair and loved how little he was!  Jared really got a kick out of him, but couldn’t understand why he wasn’t playing!!  Poor Chip though, was absolutely famished when we arrived, so he pretty much screamed for all of the kids.  They still think he was pretty great though!  Jared talks about baby Chip all the time!  I think he is super excited for some one-on-one basketball in the near future!!

We took another day that the kids had off from school to to sledding again.  It was a great day for sledding and they had so much fun going up and down the hill over and over!

It’s kind of nice after the crazy of the holidays to just let January be a little low-key, but we still managed to fit in some fun!
