Sooooo, yeah. It’s been a little while since I last blogged! There is no good reason, only an excuse: my computer is in the basement and it is SOOOOOO cold down there, so I don’t want to sit and blog. I have been reminded by SEVERAL members of my family that I have been neglecting this poor old blog, so I guess it’s time to finally make amends and get back to blogging!
2013 started out on a wonderful high note for us this year with Michaela’s baptism!
Michaela is such a sweet special little girl and we are so happy she is in our family! We loved celebrating her special day with her and see her making such a wonderful decision!
Grandma Fergy came over bright and early that morning to help (do) Michaela’s hair. Yes, I can french braid, but it is often special looking, so I called in the pro to get this job done!! It also greatly relieves my stress the morning-of! Thanks mommy!!!
We took some fun pictures with our little cutie!
Then Michaela got some very special gifts from Grandma & Grandpa and us. She was excited to get her very first willow tree figure from Grandpa & Grandma. We gave her a CTR towel, bracelet, journal and her very own scriptures in a cute new case! She was so excited by everything!
Then we headed over to the chapel to take more pictures, find her clothing and wait! We were told there was only one other person getting baptized, but that morning there were actually four! Everything ran pretty smoothly, and we didn’t have to wait long at all.
We decided to have her luncheon at the church, which was the best decision EVER!! It was really nice for everyone to be able to sit at a table and clean up was not bad at all with everyone’s help! I let Michaela choose what she wanted for her meal. After a few suggestions, she chose breakfast with crepes! I went so overboard with food, but my philosophy is always: I would rather have too much than too little! We had lots of wonderful family members willing to help out with making and bringing yummy food too!! We ended up having crepes, mini bagels, cinnamon & orange rolls, mini muffins, banana bread, bananas, oranges, orange juice, milk, chocolate milk and hot chocolate, with candy canes and marshmallows! It was quite the spread!! We enjoyed sitting and visiting while we ate and then we watched Michaela's baptism movie that I put together.
{Looking at those pictures and seeing both Jared and Uncle Dave with their mouths stuffed full of food makes me really worry about my little boy….}
It really was a wonderful day! There were a few who came to the baptism, but snuck out before I could grab a picture of them,(sneaky, sneaky) but we were glad they were able to come for the baptism. Thanks again everyone who came and supported our family on Michaela’s special day! She also got many wonderful gifts from family and friends. She treasures each and every one! Thanks again!

Most of all, congratulations to Michaela! We love her so much and are so proud of the girl she is becoming! My favorite thing was when I was helping her get changed and she said, “I’ve waited my whole life for that, and now it’s over!”
The next day at church, both Savannah and Michaela decided to wear their baptism dresses!! Since Savannah has stayed super skinny around and only grown up, she still fit her dress just fine!! Both girls were so adorable and cute in their white!!
