Disneyland!!

We just got back from a fabulous family vacation to Disneyland!! We had such a fun time together as a family, and experiencing as parents watching the magic of such a fun place through our kids' eyes. All three of our girls had a blast! I am amazed at how daring my older girls are! They loved the wild rides. Savannah's favorite was probably the Grizzly River Run in California Adventure. Michaela's favorite was either Splash or Space Mountain, but it depended on when you asked her, because sometimes she almost fell out of that particular ride... Lily and I had many fun adventures on the carousel and Dumbo, both of which she loved, but the carousel took the top spot in her eyes. It also never seemed to last long enough, because she would scream when I took her off her horse!

Because Disneyland's theme of the year is "celebrate", they had lots of fun things. Our girls were given "1st Time" buttons, and were treated extra special whenever anyone saw them. They also had a street parade and would pull kids out of the audience to dance along. My older two got chosen over and over to go dance. They thought it was great dancing with all the Disney characters!
We saw lots and lots of characters. The girls were thrilled to see Tinkerbell and the princesses, and of course Minnie and Mickey! Lily was ADORABLE! She would run with open arms up to every single character she saw and give them a great big hug! She loved them all. Since she hated Santa and the Easter Bunny, I was surprised she loved everyone at Disneyland so much! I think she charmed quite a few of them!!
Since it was their first time at Disneyland, all the girls had to have Minnie Mouse ears. They all chose their favorite. Savannah went with sparkly, Lily with cute and Michaela with a bride veil clear down her back--it fits her perfectly! Although absolutely darling, nobody ever told me how obnoxious the ears are. They fall off every two steps!! I "forgot" to bring them with us after a couple of days of them!!
The girls were all really good about standing in line. The first day, they wondered what was taking so long, but once they got used to it, and understood that there was a great ride at the end of the line, they were troopers. Lily would entertain us and the rest of the line by making friends and waving Hi to everyone. She charmed a few people in line too!! I made the girls pose everywhere, and went through 3 memory cards! They look so cute!
My girls are water babies--all three of them, so every chance we got we swam at the hotel pool.
We also took part of one day and went to Newport Beach. I love the beach! The girls loved collecting seashells, and going way out into the water with daddy. They built a sand castle, destroyed it, buried each other, and Lily chased the birds all the way to the pier! The day we were there, it started off pretty chilly, but warmed up quite a bit and was a really nice day!
We ate at the Cafe Orleans one night. Yummmy!!! The girls loved their pirate hat menus, and the food was soooooo good! The cute highchair even had a Mickey Mouse cut out!! CUTE!!
The last night we were there was the opening night of their summer fireworks. We had a front row seat and got to see Tinkerbell fly!! It was all so much fun. Michaela wondered why we couldn't live there forever. Jason is going to invent the "Disneyland Diet". I'm sure we put in at least 10 miles every day!! Savannah wonders when we get to go again, and Lily hasn't stopped giving hugs or saying Hi to everyone! I love that we were able to take our cute girls, even though I am still adjusting back to normal life!

p.s. Sorry about the overload on pictures. I narrowed it down....really....I did!!!

Such cute pics & I liked hearing about what you did there. I don't know how you narrowed down the pictures-it didn't seem like too many to me at all.
