At the very end of July, I got to go to Youth Conference with the youth in my ward. Jason took a couple days off work so he could be home with the girls, and I headed off to Price. We arrived in Price and checked into the dorms. They WERE nicer than camping, but very ghetto. The mattress was more like a box spring with every spring digging into you while you slept! But there was air conditioning, which made it worth it!! We got settled, and then went out to the rock wall. We had it all to ourselves for 2 hours. The kids loved going up and down the thing, and trying the different sides. We even had a couple races go on, and that was fun to see! After our time at the rock wall was done, we went to the field and played some games. We played some water games and a flag football/steal the flag type game. Then we relaxed until dinner. That evening, we had a talk from someone from our ward, and then the kids did skits based on a scripture using random objects. They did such a good job, and the skits were really fun! The next day, we drove out to a lookout point called "Little Grand Canyon" to hike around for a bit, and eat lunch. Kids have no fear! All of them were walking right up to the edge of the thing and sitting there, and it was giving me a heart attack, because I was one of the leaders responsible for them! I remember going to the real Grand Canyon as a kid, and I don't know how my mom and dad could stand it! I don't think I'll be taking my kids anytime soon!! When we got back to Price, we changed and went to the wave pool. That was a lot of fun, but my arms were sure sore after trying to keep myself up on the tube. We drove home that night, and then met up again in the morning at the church for our testimony meeting and a yummy breakfast! It was an awesome Youth Conference, and it really just amazes me how strong these kids are! They are such an example to me, and I love that I have the opportunity to learn from them! Here are some pictures of our adventures!!
