Our Spring Break was exciting and fun-filled and a nice break from everything for our family! Jason took 2 days off of work, and we planned to go visit my grandma in Afton, Wyoming. The weather was really crazy the morning we were leaving, and so we decided to postpone our trip. The girls were sad, I was sad, and so daddy came up with a fun activity we could do together—sledding!!! We are horrible parents who have never taken our kids sledding before, and don’t even own a sled. The stores didn’t have any, so we borrowed some from my mom. We got all bundled up and had a great time sledding together.
Jared bundled up inside of mommy’s coat!
The girls started with a smaller hill, and really enjoyed going down.
Then they hiked up to the BIG hill and had even more fun!!
Daddy even got in on the sledding action!
Lily was such a trooper. I expected her to want to be carried up the hill every time, but she was great at hiking up each time!
We had so much fun, we are determined to buy ourselves some sleds next year and go as often as we can!!
Later in the day, the weather was wonderful, and we hadn’t unpacked our car, so we decided to go ahead and make the trip up to grandma’s. We are so glad we did!! It was one of the funnest trips we’ve had! Grandma loved meeting little Jared, and he was equally as happy to meet her!
Grandma still has FEET of snow, and so we got to enjoy the winder wonderland up there some more. I know most people are not disappointed, but I think this winter has been absolutely stinky! We haven’t been able to play in the snow more than a couple times, and so it was SO MUCH FUN to be surrounded in it for a couple days and spend a lot of time playing in it!!
We took my mom’s sleds, and Jason spent one entire morning pulling them around the yard like this:
The snow was so deep the kids would sink down where he had plowed his way through!
The girls made snow angels.
Daddy finally got a break from lugging them around.
Michaela took a nap in a sled.
And we built a snowman! (a miniature one!)
Aunt Carolyn with Jared
We had homemade cocoa in fancy cups.
We had a “Tea Party” lunch on fancy plates.
The girls colored, played and visited Grandma to their hearts content! Well actually, they were pretty sad when it was time to go. We hope we can visit again soon!!

That looks SO fun!!! What a good use of spring break!
Next year you must all come out to Eagle Mountain and try our awesome hill. Hot chocolate at my house afterwards! :) Looks like you guys had lots of fun. I'm glad you could go on your trip. We almost couldn't go on ours, but I'm really glad things worked out so we could go. We have had to cancel two trips before that, so I know what a bummer that is.
When you think of "spring break" you think of sunshine and flip flops and such. Instead we had sledding and hot chocolate! Crazy Utah weather! Looks like you had a great time though!
Next year we want to go sledding with you guys! We have 2 or 3 infatable tubes!!!! Our girls love sledding too.
