The last Wednesday of February was free day at the Zoo. Jason was home, but wanted to work on homework. Luckily he has a super slacker wife who loves to drag him off to adventures instead!! We didn’t get there until more like 11:30, but it was actually really nice. The day ended up being pretty warm and even though it seemed super crowded in the parking lot, was actually fine inside.
We loved being able to see “Rocky Shores” for the first time! Not all of the animals were out and about, but the seals and sea otters were so much fun and we spent a long time there watching them play!
The Grizzly and Brown bears were sleeping, but Jared and Lily saw this mural of bears and decided to play with them!!
We hung out in the Giraffe building for quite a while since by that time they were needing a snack.
They loved the Lion water fountain even though it wasn’t turned on.
Right before we left, we decided to let the kids ride the Merry-Go-Round! The last time I was at the zoo with the kids, I made Jared ride an animal even though he wanted to sit on the bench and he screamed the entire time, so this time when he picked the bench, I was the nice mom who let him ride the lamest thing on there! He was super happy and laughed the entire time, so it was worth it!!
It was a super fun day and we were glad to spend it with daddy, but sad that the older girls were in school and not able to join us. I feel like I say that a lot, and need to have a day for just them sometime soon!!
