Spring Break!

For Spring Break this year, the girls got a whole week off!  We had so much fun filling our time with lots of activities!

Savannah and Michaela are both really into putting together puzzles right now, and they both got one for Easter.  We had fun putting it together and then there were pictures to try and find within the puzzle!

We got to go to a Real soccer game together.  Minus daddy who’s Spring Break did not fall at the same time as ours.  It was a cold night, but bundled up with all of our blankets kept us nice and toasty!  We had pretty good seats too, and enjoyed our view of the game!

We spent several days/nights hanging out at Hollywood Connection.  We went skating together and the kids all loved it!  Lily and Jared had never even been, but by the end of the first day, they looked like pros!  The girls participated in some games each time we were there, their favorite being limbo!  The first time they played, Lily was the 2nd to last person.  The second time they played Lily and Michaela were the final two and Lily won!!  They were excited by their accomplishment!  It was exciting for Jared and I to cheer them all on!!

We went miniature golfing and had fun, even though some of my kids struggle with actually staying together and not just running ahead to the next hole when they finish.  I always forget that I usually end up playing for the young kids, and should probably not get my own club!!

Each day during spring break Hollywood Connection had free hot dogs and drinks, so we took advantage of that and had lunch and dinner some of the times we went.  (The room has lots of neon signs that make it pretty hard to get a decent non-pink picture!!)

We went to West Jordan park and had fun playing on all the different parks there.  We also met up with our Madsen cousins and had a picnic.

The Library had a few fun events that we went to, our favorite being the movie matinee showing “Wreck it Ralph”.

Our spring break ended with Conference weekend, which we started out with a yummy breakfast at Village Inn.  The kids all had a free meal and they all loved getting to eat out for breakfast!

For Conference, I had put together a lot of fun activities to keep our kids quiet so we could all hear the talks.  The rule was only one activity during each speaker.  They had to wait to get the next activity.  This worked SO WELL!  It was good for them to change enough that they didn’t get bored but they knew they had to be quiet or not get another activity.  I was able to hear most of the talks, (they ARE still kids!) and having something to do actually helped Jared and Lily listen too.  There were a few times they commented on what the speaker was saying.  We will definitely be using this for Conference from now on!

It was great to have such a nice break from school and get my kids home for a while.  Not too much longer and they will be home for the summer!!
