January so often feels like such a "let-down" month to me after all the fun of the holidays. I didn't want my girls to feel like that, and we've tried to do some crazy fun things, and we've also had a few weird things pop up. Not many pictures have been taken, but I wanted to share some of the things we have been up to.
New Year's always gets me hyped up for games again. Since January is kind of a slumpy month, we decided to still have some friends over to play games. We have done a couple game nights including our chocolate fountain in the fun. (We need to do something to get people to like us!!) My girls love that they get to stay up late and play with their friends, and Jason and I have been introduced to some really fun new games!!
We were able to go and see some old friends of ours, and their new baby. The McIntyres had a new baby girl, Emma, on New Year's Eve, and since Tylaine's mom was visiting from Canada, they wanted to bless her while she was in town. Jason, unfortunately was sick for this, and Lily by sleeping default, stayed home with him, but the older girls and I had a good time seeing people we haven't seen in a few years, and visiting with them.
I have rediscovered a blog that I absolutely love, and is a must-have for anyone with girls. (shedoeshair.blogspot.com) This lady is so creative with the cute things she does with girls hair, and me and my girls have had great fun doing princess hair, up hair, down hair, and all-around NEW hair! Lily even got in on the action this weekend. Check out how darling!!

We had some sickness in our family this month. Mostly minor things that were better by the next morning, but Lily had a weird rash one morning, so I took her into the doctor. The doctor checked her all out, and her diagnosis was that she had a sinus infection, and was having an allergic reaction to it. I never would have even known about the sinus infection, because my sweet little Lily, was still sweet, and happy all the time. It was kind of weird to find out what it all was, and she looked so pathetic with her "dots" all over her, but she is all better and up to her fun self again!!
My girls had a long weekend off from school this past weekend, and we decided to do some things with our Syracuse cousins! They let us hang out with them for two days, and Savannah and Michaela got to sleep-over! Lily hardly knew what to do with herself without being mauled by an older sister for one night! They got pizza and pop for dinner, got to make orange rolls with their Aunt Amber, and they even got to make cute paper dolls with Amber's cricuit machine! The girls were mostly good, and had lots of fun. Amber was pretty brave to put up with all of them! Maybe they'll get to do it again soon!
We got a fun call Saturday night from Uncle Dennis and Aunt Julie, inviting Savannah and Michaela to go to the Living Planet Aquarium on an Aunt and Uncle date. The girls loved this, and I think Lily is getting used to all the extra attention she gets when the older two are out of the picture! They came home with tales of fish, frogs and sharks, and the animals you could touch, which Savannah wouldn't go near, and Michaela, of course touched every one.
Being the last day of a 4-day holiday weekend, already filled with more fun than I even anticipated, I was thinking Monday would be a day of putting the house back together. The girls ran some errands with me in the morning, and were better than they ever have been! While thinking of something to reward them, we passed by the $1 movie theater, and once we saw that High School Musical 3 was there, our outing was planned! We hustled over to the theater and had a great time watching the cheese that is High School Musical. (This was a movie we had to do without daddy, I don't think he could've handled it.) I was unsure how Lily would do. We've never taken her to a movie before. I think we chose the right one for her though. The minute it started she was bouncing up and down on my lap, waving her arms and clapping the all the music. A true High School Musical fan!!
I also made it out to some great clearance sales and was able to finally snag myself a pre-lit tree!!! Yay!! I got the tree, the decorations, a pre-lit garland, some ornaments, and a few other fun things for $50!!! Oh, and did I mention it was a $300 tree?!?! What a steal!! I got a ton of candy on clearance, and have plenty of chocolate for my chocolate fountain parties to come!
All in all, it has been a fun January so far, and we are looking forward to all the other fun we will have throughout this year! Oh, and do you think it would be weird if I put up a Christmas tree in January? (I'm pretty excited for it!!)
