Lily's Bad Day

The past couple weeks Lily has been on and off sick, and jest never really get over anything before the next thing starts in. On Wednesday, she was having really awful Flu symptoms and didn't want to eat anything. She started not being able to keep anything in, and then her lips were a really strange color. Like blueish-purplish. It was kind of scary looking, so I ended up taking her into the insta-care. They checked her oxygen levels, and she was ok, but she was extremely dehydrated. They decided to put her on an IV to get some fluids back in her. One of the saddest things I have ever done is hold down my one-year-old child while she is getting an IV. She was so sad. She continued to cry the entire time the IV was in her, which was about an hour. I had my other two girls with me too, and the long time, was a little bit too long for them. We were in a curtained room because the bed was a little bit more accessible to put in the IV, so Michaela sat and pulled the curtain open and closed over and over. She also kept "checking" on the other patients next door to us, and needed to use the bathroom several times. Savannah was pretty good, but near the end of our 2 hour visit, she started playing with the curtains as well. It was really stressful to hold my sick little baby, and have the other two flipping out! They ended up sending Lily home with the IV still in her, in case she needed more the next day. We took her to her regular doctor the next day and luckily she was already 10 times better. They took out the IV which was almost as traumatizing as putting it in. She wouldn't let anyone touch her hurt hand for days. Now, almost a week later, she is starting to act like her sweet self again which makes me so happy. I love her teasing, and laughing and silly little antics, and it's been great to start having my Lily back! I love you Lily!!!

Here are some pictures of her "owie".

Oh so sad! Cassidy had to do the same thing when she was 1. She was totally lethargic. It is so sad to see your child suffer like that.
