For New Year’s Eve this year, we decided to stay home and celebrate with our little family. We started out the night by making mini pizza’s, which was what we always made at my house on New Year’s Eve. My girls thought this was AWESOME! They now ask me if they can make their own pizza’s every day!
Lily went just a TAD overboard with the cheese…
Jason insisted on making his own big pizza instead of several mini pizza’s.
I think everyone did an excellent job on their pizza’s! We had a lot of fun making and eating them!!
After dinner, we headed downstairs for a night of family fun! We had a table FULL of yummy goodness for us to snack on as we waited for the new year!! (We were all pretty full from dinner though, so we didn’t make much of a dent in our snacks! It worked out fine though, because then we had snacks for other days!!)
We brought out a bunch of games, and played the night away! We played some new games we got for Christmas, and some old games too. They were a lot of fun, and we have some new favorites!
Lily and Jared both went to bed early. I fell asleep on the couch, and was woken up in time for the new year. Jason, Savannah and Michaela all stayed up the whole night! We watched the ball drop, (wondered WHY it is ANYONE’S dream to stand in Times Square for 6 hours to watch that live), toasted to the new year with our mini martinelli’s, and then went to bed!
I love that my kids are getting old enough to have fun with this holiday! We had a great night playing games and spending time together!! We are looking forward to 2011 and all the exciting adventures that are to come for our family!! We hope everyone has a Happy New Year!!
