We had a great Christmas season this year. We had lots of fun and spent fun time with family. The week of Christmas, the girls still had school and they both had Christmas programs at school. They were both so cute and did a great job singing!
For Christmas this year, my parents, Dave and Ashley & Luis spent Christmas Eve and morning with us. It was fun to have them here to help us celebrate such a wonderful time of year! We had Christmas Eve dinner.
Then Savannah, Lily and Michaela all performed some piano solos for us. (Even though Savannah’s was the only one that was actually a song, it was really cute that her sisters want to be just like her!!)
Then I made mom accompany all of us singing our favorite Christmas songs!
Dave & Michaela—I don’t really need to say any more!
We acted out the nativity with Dave, Ashley & Luis. Some of the girls were upset because they didn’t get to be a certain part, so it ended up being kind of a disaster. That and “Joseph” wasn’t really into the re-enactment!
The girls got everything ready for Santa, and then we played the waiting game while they tried to go to sleep. Because of our company, we had the girls all sleep in Lily’s room, and they were a little bit crazy about going to sleep. Jason went in to supervise, and ended up telling them stories that kept them up even longer! They finally went to sleep, and so could we!
I expected a really early morning. That’s the kind we’ve been used to the past couple of years, but our kids slept until 8am!! They were so excited by everything!
Jared was pretty excited to see all of his toys too, but when he realized they were all packaged up and he couldn’t play with them he got a little upset.
He tried everything he could think of to get those toys OUT! Including standing on them!
He finally just threw himself to the ground in a perfectly hilarious 1-year-old tantrum!!
We enjoyed having everyone else to open gifts with us!
We had a yummy Christmas morning breakfast and then our company had to be on their way. We wish they could have stayed longer, but are glad they could come!
Jared was finally able to go down for a much needed nap, and the girls spent time with their favorite gifts. (Lily only asked Santa for a candy bar, and was super excited that he brought her one!!)
We were able to spend some time with part of Jason’s family later in the day, but I forgot my camera at home, so I don’t have any pictures.
We are so grateful to all of our family who spent time with us and made this year such a great one! We love this time of year and the opportunity we have to celebrate our Savior’s birth! We hope all of our family and friends had a Merry Christmas too!
