Taylorsville Days was the end of June, and our family had a great time participating in it. Savannah told me several months ago that one of her goals for the summer was to run a 5K. She wanted me to run it with her, so we started training. She was a fun little running buddy!
The night before our race, I cooked a Carbo-loading dinner, Manicotti! (Totally brought me back to high school Cross Country and our weekly pasta party!)
Savannah loved it!
Here we are the morning of our race!
My sister Megan and her husband Blake were running it too!
Savannah went and warmed up with them. (Look at her WASTING Meg!)
Then we were off!
The rest of the kids, Jason and my parents went over to the finish to wait for us.
Here we are “kicking it in”
I am so proud of little Savannah! She did an AWESOME job! She ran the entire way, even though I knew it was hard for her. We came in just over 40 min. She wants to run more with me and I am happy to have a buddy anytime!
After our race, we all parked ourselves on the curb and watched the parade!
We had a fun, and very HOT time!
That night, we went back for fireworks.
We played and ate snacks while we waited for the sun to go down.
We always love fireworks!
Jared was so funny! He sat with his hands over his ears while he watched.
We had such a fun day at Taylorsville Dayzz!!
