What we’ve been up to {part two}

*Chex Playdate. From a conversation on Facebook, my sister-in-law Jennie and I figured out we each had half of the ingredients to try a chex treat we had seen on Pinterest. We decided this called for a playdate with some of the cousins to try it and give us thumbs up or down. They had a great time getting together. Our little crew who was there sure had a great time “helping”, sampling, and playing! Oh, and they all gave it a thumbs up!

*We have been doing a Book of Mormon reading challenge this year.  When we finish certain books, there are fun things to do.  The first was a skate night, (which took us forever to do, and we finally just called the school skate night it).  The second was an ice cream outing!  So, a few weeks ago for FHE we loaded everyone up and headed to Artic Circle for some yummy brown topper ice cream!  The kids were in heaven!  I love that such a simple thing brought such joy to my little kids!  We have really enjoyed our reading challenge this year!

*Our THREE girls all had their dance competition!  I can’t believe I now have three little cuties in dance!  I love every minute of watching them, but competitions, pictures and recitals all with getting hair & makeup ready and costume changes just got even more CrAzY!!!  I wouldn’t trade it for anything though, because these girls L.O.V.E. dance!

Lily is absolutely adorable and follows in big sister’s footsteps by not being afraid at ALL!  She knew she was the first one of the girls to perform and wasn’t content with life until that had happened!  I was a little nervous with how long we were going to be and brought lots to entertain her, but she was fantastic!  Once she was done dancing, she loved watching all of the other dances as long as she could have a few treats!

Savannah and Michaela impress me with how great they are doing!  The are both learning so much and love it as well!!

They all loved getting their trophy.  Lily was so excited it didn’t leave her side for the rest of the day!

I am pretty proud of my cute dancers!

*Cinco de Mayo.  We had another several-days celebration of Cinco de Mayo, just like we did last year.  We started on Friday.  My sister Amber and her kids came down to hang out with us and we had a great time playing and eating homemade Café Rio Salads!   yum!

Savannah wanted to made dessert, so she made cinnamon tortillas like at Costa Vida.  Everyone loved them and scarfed them up!

On Saturday, we went to a Cinco de Mayo party for my nieces 1st birthday.  We had our picture taken:

We had a pinata

Michaela swung so hard she decapitated the poor thing.  Good thing we went youngest to oldest!

And we played pin the tail on the donkey.  We all had a fun time and had some more yummy mexican food.

For our last Cinco de Mayo meal on Sunday, we made homemade Taquitos, chips and salsa and homemade Limade.  Mmmmmm!  We had a super fun celebration all weekend long!

I love your Book of Mormon challenge! We have been reading the Book of Mormon with our kids this year. We might have to start some rewards for finishing certain books. Great idea!

Wow you have been busy! I love the idea of a Chex playdate. I hate it when I want to make something I find on Pinterest but don't have all the ingredients. What a great little solution!

Cute pictures, and cute post!
