That time of year has come again. I have to admit, I was really, really, REALLY not ready for it this year. It probably had a lot to do with our crazy summer and school seeming to start a week earlier than normal. But we made it. Savannah and Michaela were both thrilled with starting school. Savannah is in 2nd grade this year and Ms. Alonso is her teacher. Savannah absolutely LOVES every second of school and always has so many things to tell me about her day. She is so grown up and it is so cute (although sad) to see!
After school, we had a special treat sent to us from Great-grandma Wilkes all the way up in Star Valley! The girls really loved this fun after school treat. They also each got a pencil pouch with glittery pencils from Grandma Fergy, but I guess I forgot to take a picture of them.
Kindergarten, has testing during the first week of school, and so their first day is the next week. Can I tell you how much I absolutely H.A.T.E. this?! It’s hard enough to have one “first day of school”, and two almost did me in! (physically and emotionally) But this little rugrat was SO excited to finally be going to school. Her testing with her teacher was hilarious. One time her teacher asked her to sort some paper buttons by color, and Michaela started telling her how they could use the buttons to decorate something with instead. She also cheered for herself throughout the whole test! On her first day, it was raining, so they went inside the gym to wait until school started. She sat down next to a boy in her class, and immediately turned to him and said “I’m 5, how old are you?” By the time school started they were laughing and playing and good new friends. She comes home every day and tells me about the new friends she makes, but in typical Michaela form, she doesn’t remember their names!
I may have shed a “few” tears over school starting again, but I do love that both my girls really love learning and are excited for their year in school! I hardly know what to do with myself with only 2 at home for most of the day. Lily, Jared and I have been able to have quite a bit of fun together, and we all look forward to when sisters get home each day!

They are so cute! They do grow up so fast. Michaela is so much like Cassidy in a lot of ways, it's funny!
I love that you go in and take pictures of them in their classes like mom always did. NONE of the parents did in my 3 years of teaching. The girls look so cute. I wish I could see them in class!
