We decided, since Savannah is our little artist, that her birthday party would be an art party! She loved the idea, and since it was back-to-school time, we were able to find a lot of fun stuff for it! Here is the little invitation we made.
We brought in her easel for a fun Happy birthday sign.
We started the party with chalk art. As kids came, they were able to just join right in!
We went inside and put on our “smocks” (old men’s shirts put on backwards and buttoned) The kids giggled as I put them on, but it worked perfectly! We painted little wooden cakes.
Then we took the gang outside and painted some more on our GIANT wall of art! (we may have gotten a bit of paint on the garage, but luckily it was washable!)
We came inside again and played “birthday party Pictionary”
Then we decorated our loot bags.
And made puppets out of some.
And made ourselves new faces with others!
We made bracelets with beads.
And opened presents
Then we had cake and ice cream,
but before we could eat them, we decorated them!!!
We sang to our sweet birthday girl and enjoyed our creations!
Mommy and Jared at the party
goofy daddy at the party
All of our friends with their loot bags. We filled them with a notebook, markers, crayons, watercolors & scissors.
This was such a fun party! It was actually super easy to put together, and the age was SO MUCH FUN! Thanks to all our great friends for coming and having a great time with us!

What a brilliant idea for a party! My kids love art (okay they were cursed from the day they were born), so I may have to borrow your idea one of these years! I love your ideas!
What a great idea. It sounds like it was pretty easy to pull off. You are such a fun mom.
