No, we didn’t go to Baskin-Robbins for ice cream, Jason had a birthday!! He is now 31! YAY! We woke him up bright and early to give him all his loot.
I think he was pretty pleased with most of what we gave him.
I “re-gifted” my mp3 player to him. He wasn’t sure what to make of that one.
He is always borrowing mine, so I got him a newer, better mp3 player, but now I like his better, so I thought we could trade…? No..?
So he got spoiled, but some of the gifts are presents for me too! (Do you like your new saw honey? Great! Would you please go cut my wood in the garage for my craft project???)
He got the movie “How To Train Your Dragon”, so we had a little movie/dinner party and watched it together. This is my favorite movie right now!
I made the world’s ugliest cake for him. I have made Jase the same cake every year since we’ve been married. An Oreo cake. It’s not rocket science. In fact, I think it’s one of the easiest cakes to make, but I always seem to forget the little details of making it. This year, I forgot that the cool whip filling needs to be FROZEN or it all just squishes out the sides. Then my hand mixer died on me, so I had to mix the frosting my hand. So it was lumpy and chunky! Then, against my better judgment, I thought I would try writing “happy birthday” on the cake. I know I can’t write words on cakes. It’s why I invented the little signs that I place on or near the cake. Yet, I went forward with the awful plan. THIS is the result:
U. L. G. Y. Oh well, luckily for this cake, it’s not what’s on the outside, but the inside that matters, and it got two thumbs way way up! (And maybe I can still get some “style” points for the awesome platter it sits on!)
Happy Birthday babe!!!!! We love you!
