For the past 6 months my girls have wanted to get their ears pierced. They wanted to be like mommy. It took me 28 years to pierce my ears, but my girls wanted them now. They were nervous of it hurting though, and decided to wait until they were older. Last month, after getting a shot they looked at me and asked if that’s what getting their ears pierced would feel like. Then they decided they wanted them done now! I talked to my sister about it and she wanted her daughter to come and see her cousins and hopefully want to do it herself. So last Friday night was the day! We took them to the mall and on the way in I told them that if they were scared they didn’t have to do it. Michaela said “I don’t even CARE if it hurts!” We took a cute “before” picture of the three cuties.
They loved looking at all the earrings and choosing the ones they wanted.
After we finally got everything filled out, we were ready. The girl asked who wanted to go first and they all stood there looking at each other. I finally made Savannah go first since she was the oldest. She was nervous, but excited.
Right after they were done she told me it didn’t hurt at all, but then in a minute or two she said, “OW! NOW it hurts!” But it was ok at that point because she loved them!
Emma decided to go next, but when it was her turn she got pretty scared so she sat on her mom’s lap, and they even had a little bear for her to hold.
She was very brave and smiled a great big huge grin when she saw herself in the mirror!
Michaela was last, and was so wiggly. When the girl was trying to mark her ears she had a hard time looking right at her. Her eyes kept wandering to see everyone else. The girl doing the piercing told me “good luck with this one!”
She did great too and was very excited with the results.
Here they are together with their official “after” picture. (Zach had to join in the picture because he was pretty sad that he didn’t get his “earrings pierced”)
Jared and Lily did pretty good while everything else was going on. Jared got a fun ride. (and a meltdown when we made him get out)
Lily had plenty of treats to keep her happy, but she still had a meltdown. Probably because she was tired and hungry. You might wonder why she didn’t get her ears pierced, but she didn’t want to yet. She told me when her sisters were talking about it that she was too little to get her ears pierced. “I’m big but I’m little!” I’m sure she will want to in a few years, and when she does I will let her!
Since Amber and her kids came all the way down here, we had them come over for a pizza party after the mall.
Mom and Dave had come with us to the mall so they came to our impromptu pizza party too!
And here is Amber, me and Jason. Amber and I took our picture with both of our camera’s at the same time and you can see how we both looked at our own camera!! Awesome!
It was a fun night and my girls have been on cloud 9 ever since!! They are really good about cleaning them and after that first night, they have said they don’t hurt at all. It was so fun to take my cute little grown up girls and they look absolutely adorable!!

I didn't realize you didn't have earrings before you were 28. Where've I been? How fun to get earrings for all those cute little ears! I love Lily's comment about being big and little :).
Actually the girls want to be like aunt meggie since I was the one to do it first while the rest of you were to chicken. Then everyone else copied me! Please print a retraction!!
Ouch! I like that they are still smiling even after the pain of getting their "earrings pierced" They look so cute though, how fun for your girls!
