Nine

My little girl had a birthday.  She turned 9 years old!  One year away from double digits!  I can’t believe how the time has flown!  Savannah is such a darling little girl, and we love having her in our family!

Her birthday was on a Saturday this year, so we celebrated at school the day before.  She wanted cupcakes.  Preferably, chocolate!

I had so much fun shopping and getting ready for her birthday. She only asked for one thing, so I had a lot of room to get her fun things I knew she would love, but I could completely surprise her with.

She was definitely excited and loved every single thing!  When I asked her what her favorite thing was she usually named half of her gifts!

I think Savannah has entered the “tween” age, and I am loving it!  I think I am a “tween” at heart, because I was just as into all of her gifts as she was.  Including the Miley Cyrus CD and the “Sharpay’s Fabulous Adventure” DVD! 

Here is her new watch “like mommy’s”.  This was the only thing she wanted.  I saved it for last and acted like we had given her everything, and then I found this present that we “forgot” in the hallway.  I’m so mean!

Since it was a Saturday, we asked her what she wanted to do.  She chose to go to Seven Peaks.  It was fun to go one last time before summer was officially over.  We even got the kids some dippin’ dots which they thought was some pretty cool ice cream!

Savannah had some fun visitors and lots of calls throughout the day.  She was so cute with everyone!

She chose pizza for dinner, and we watched one of her new movies while we ate.

Then it was time for birthday cake!!  I didn’t really have any ideas for her cake until a couple days before.  I decided on a gumball machine cake.  Since I love the convenience of the cupcake cakes, I made them sort-of work.  Savannah was thrilled with it, so I call it a success!  I even put 9 cents on it, which she loved!

Happy Birthday to my sweet Savannah!!!  She is just a great helper and friend to me.  I love what a great big sister she is.  Michaela, Lily and Jared really look up to her.  She brings such happiness into our home!!  Love you sweetheart!!
