Eight, is one of the years we let the kids have a friend party. Way last year, Michaela and I started looking for ideas, and we decided to go with a “Cooking Party”. I found lots of cute ideas online, and combined our favorites with a few of our own for a perfect party!!
For our invitation, we put all of the information for the party on a recipe card and attached it to a wooden spoon. They turned out so cute, but since my information is plastered all over them, and I have no idea how to “fuzz” that out, no picture!
We had so much fun getting ready for her party!! We made cake stands with plates and candle sticks. (Although I lost the really really strong glue I bought for this project, and ended up using something I had, which was NOT as good! The stands at least held up during the party!)
We made a cupcake liner garland that the kids love so much, it is STILL hanging in our kitchen!! He he!
We also had a few more cute things to help us make our cakes adorable!
As the guests arrived, Savannah gave them each an apron and chef hat to wear! We then had the girls make cupcake liner “flowers” for their hats.
Super cute chefs!!
Then we gathered into the kitchen to decorate their cakes. They each got their own, and using frosting and sprinkles, they all let their personalities shine!!
Then they got a mini name banner to stick in their cakes. Not only was it super cute, but let us easily know who’s cake was who’s! My awesome hubby helped my by setting up an awesome “photo area”, and each girl got her picture taken there with her cake!
All of the adorable cakes!!!!
While I cleaned up the table, Savannah gave each of the girls a word search to work on. Then they came back in the kitchen to make Mini Pizzas!
While we let those bake, Michaela opened her gifts from her sweet friends. She was excited and loved every single one of them!!
This was the part of the party that I didn’t think through all of the way. It did not take as much time to open gifts as it did for the pizza to bake. So we switched things up and did cake and ice cream first! Hey, it was a party, so it didn’t really matter if they spoiled their lunch, right?!!
Once the pizza was done, we enjoyed pizza, mini breadsticks, fruit cocktail, and kiwi strawberry juice in fancy drinking cups!
Then we had a “cake walk”, and each winner got their goody bag. In the bag was, a cupcake mix, sprinkles and a cupcake chocolate that we made with a cute mold we found.
We had such a great party!! The rest of my kids got to decorate a cake and make mini pizzas later. So fun!!
I really enjoyed this cute party!! Michaela LOVED it! I couldn’t have done it without all of my fantastic helpers! My mom did so much for me, including helping me many times with all of the sewing to get the cute aprons and hats done! Jason did so many projects for me, especially the day of, and he helped entertain Lily and Jared during the party. Savannah was my biggest rockstar!!! I loved having an older child who could help during the party. She was so good to take over parts so I could get other things done. She was adorable and I loved every minute of having her there!! Most of all, I loved being able to have a special party for Michaela that we had fun planning TOGETHER!!! Happy Birthday Sweetie!!
