End of School 2013

It’s always exciting when it gets to be the last few weeks of school!  We had lots of events to go to those last two weeks.  Both girls had an Awards Assembly.

The 4th graders sang a couple of songs, and handed out a ton of awards.  Savannah did a great job and got some wonderful awards.

The 2nd graders put on more of a performance for the parents and sang lots of songs about the things they learned this year.  They gave out just a couple of awards in front of the parents, and the rest they gave in class.  I was sad that I didn’t get to see Michaela get any of her awards, but she did great in her cute performance!

I helped with Field Day again this year, and decided to just bring my cute little tag-alongs with me.  Jared and Lily did SO GOOD!  We were at the school ALL DAY LONG in the heat, but they just played and helped and even got to get their hair spray painted!  It was fun for me to get to be there and help, and they nicely let me sit in the shade and hand popsicles out to the kids all day!!

Savannah’s class had been working on little “reader’s theater” plays in class, and they got to perform them for another class the last week of school.  I snuck in with my kids and mom to get to watch her!  She did such a good job and she was the only student who had a cute costume too!!  I love all of the hard work she put into it!

I can hardly believe it, but it was finally the LAST DAY OF SCHOOL!!  The girls were thrilled!!

All too soon the day was over and my little 2nd and 4th graders were now 3rd and 5th graders!  Eek!  We caught the girls with their cute teachers!  We loved both of our great teachers this year!  They were so perfect for my girls and helped them learn so much!  We will definitely miss them!

The girls then had to JUMP for JOY that is was SUMMER!!!!

1159

I put together some little Last Day of School gifts for the kids when they got home.

1144

I had a bucket of summer ESSENTIALS, and a great new game to play.

1145 1146

I got a bunch of workbooks for the girls to keep up on all of their skillz this summer!  I am pretty lucky that my kids LOVE doing school-type things, even in the summer!  There were also a couple of books with art and science activities!  It will be fun to do some (or ALL!) of them this summer!

1147

We got a couple of movies.  We had a road trip to head on, and still wanted the kids to feel like they had an “End of School Celebration”, so we watched the movies on our little trip.

1148

The kids each also got a little favor from mom to welcome them to summer.

1149

They were so excited and couldn’t wait for the fun to begin!

1164

Jared and Lily were pretty excited that they got in on the fun too even though they aren’t in school yet!

1166

Then we headed on our road trip.  My cousin was getting married in Logan, and we were going up to the wedding.  We stopped along the way to eat at Sonic.  Even though they are all over the place, we have never actually taken the kids there.  They thought it was pretty cool that we got our food brought out to our car.  We even turned our car into a mini “diner” for the kids to eat at.

Then on the way home we made another fun detour in Brigham City to “Peach City Drive-in” for some ice cream!!  Mmmm!  While some of my family chose gag-me flavors, I had PEACH!  There is nothing quite like Peach City peach ice cream!!!  YUM!!!

1171

We are so excited for our summer and have lots and lots of activities we hope to do together this summer!!!  Bring on the fun and adventure!!!

I can't wait to have kids old enough to go to school so we can properly celebrate the last day of school too!
