We went on a little adventure to This is The Place State Park when it was a free day earlier this month. My mom was watching Afton and Chip, so they tagged along with us. Savannah was gone to Mill Hollow, so I only had my other three.
We started off by taking the train for a ride. My kids loved this!
We got to see Brigham Young’s pink house. The kids were great tour guides, and we made it in and through the house in about 1.2 minutes!
Then it was back on the train to the next adventure!
Which was pony rides!!! All the kids were super excited about this!! They laughed and laughed and Jared told me over and over “That was so fun!”
Then we “milked” a cow.
And went into the cute little petting zoo. They had lots of fun chasing the little animals all around the place!
Then we headed to the mini village for them to get some play time in. They ran from house to house and it was kind of hard to keep our eyes on all of them! But they had a great time, and it was definitely a favorite stop of the day.
We stopped for a little lunch before our next adventures.
Then we explored the pioneer village. They loved the cute little schoolhouse with old fashioned desks and all. We also went in the hotel, church and a couple other buildings and houses.
A special they had was that everyone who came got a free ice cream cone! It was a nice treat for all of us!
At one of the last houses, out in the back they had all kinds of pioneer games and chores for the kids to do. We could have spent forever here! The kids had so much fun doing “chores” and playing like pioneer children.
It was the perfect day for such an adventure! It was actually not as crowded as we thought it would be, and it was a perfect temperature—almost cold in the shade, which meant we didn’t fry all day long! Thanks mom and cousins for coming with us!!

Now there's an idea - just tell Lily that cleaning her room is really a pioneer chore:)
