For our vacation this year, we decided to have a “Stay-cation”. We sat down with our kiddos and let them choose most of the things we did. We tried to make it still feel like a vacation, so we did a few extra fun things to make it special. We decided to have our own version of a “Continental Breakfast” with a cereal buffet each morning. We also used paper products with every meal so we didn’t have to do dishes very much!
Our first day started out with us venturing to Hollywood Connection. The kids and Jason rode rides to their hearts content before we had a little break for lunch—which we ate in our car while watching a movie!!
Then it was back inside where the rest of my family all went skating! The kids were really excited to have daddy come skate with them! They had fun playing the games and Lily and Jared both won glo-necklaces for winning!
Then we went over to the mini-golf course and had a great time playing there.
We had to plan our activities around a couple of Jared’s baseball games, so we ended up grabbing dinner on our way to the park.
After his game, we still had one more adventure. We took the kids bowling! It made for a super long day, but that’s what vacations are all about right?!
Surprisingly, the 8-month preggo MOM won our game of bowling!!!
Day two was spent mostly at Seven Peaks Provo. This was the one and only time we made it down there this summer, which was kind of sad since it is the better one, but we definitely made a great day of it!
We had so much fun playing in the water all day! We were also pretty surprised at how brave they all were, especially Lily and Jared who went down the racers and LOVED it! Lily actually went down by herself!
After a fun-filled day at the water park, we went to dinner. We had no specific plans on where to go, and drove around for quite a while. Finally, we happened upon a quaint little place called Station 22. We decided to try it, and were really happy that we did! The atmosphere was really cute. We were served our drinks out of mason jars. The chairs were all mis-matched, and there was some really fun decor as well!
Most of us loved the food too, so we called it a success!
On our way home, we stopped at the Orem Trafalga (Seven Peaks Fun Center) and enjoyed the 4D movies, and glow in the dark mini golf!
The first two days of our stay-cation were great, but we had lots more fun in store!!!!
