We were lucky enough to get to go to a Jazz game together with our whole family earlier this week. Last year just Jason, Savannah and Michaela went, and I was so sad that I didn’t get to go too. We were all looking forward to our fun family night at the game! We usually try to find free parking and then we walk a mile (or two) to the ESA, but with our littles, we paid the $$ and were very happy with our short little jaunt across the street!
The girls were so excited when they saw GRANDPA at the door taking tickets! Luckily we were there EXTRA early, so there wasn’t a line yet, and we could take up his time with pictures!
Once inside, we made the first (of MANY) hike up to our seats. There we are 3 rows from the top!! Jason and I were feeling the burn by the end of the night!
We’ve been planning this night for quite a while, and decided to let all the kids pick out what they wanted for dinner from the concessions. Michaela and Lily chose a hot dog and Savannah got nachos. YUM!!
Jared really enjoyed the fries. (Side note: if you ever go to the ESA for any event, DO NOT order the cheese fries! It is just nacho cheese drizzled over the top. DISGUSTING! But there were members of the family who thought they were ok, so we didn’t have to waste them)
So I was really worried about how well Jared would do, and was prepared to walk around and around and around the courtyard with him. I was pleasantly surprised! He sat on his seat for most of the game and cheered loudly!! He was so excited about everything!
The tip-off
Some fun pictures from our night.
All of the girls got really into the game. Savannah wanted Jason to explain everything to her!! They really loved watching all the funny things the Bear did and all the dancers. They had a lot of little girl dance groups and those were fun to watch.
We found out that Uncle Dennis was at the game with some work buddies, so at half-time we met up. When Michaela saw him walking up in the Jazz jersey, she asked him “are you one of the players?” In typical uncle teasery, he told her yes. She later asked him if it was hard work and some other funny questions. I think she was not quite sure if he was telling her the truth or not. The girls did search for #8 the whole 2nd half! (No luck, he was traded!)
We also let them all get a snack and had a fun time sharing around our popcorn, pretzels, churro and candy. The first 3 quarters the Jazz always had a significant lead, and we were planning on leaving a little early. But when it came down to the last few minutes, they lost their lead and barely pushed it into overtime. By then, we were all so excited, there was no going home early. We stayed until the end, which paid off since we WON!!!! Hooray!
What a fun night out! We were all dragging for days after our late night and coming off of Daylight Savings, but it was totally worth it!! Thanks Dad for getting us the tickets!!

What a fun evening! I love the picture of little Jared cheering! Adorable!
Looks like everyone had a great time. It sounds like the JAZZ still like to give it up their lead in the 4th quarter
So fun! Jared looks so big:( I miss you all!
How fun! Even though the Jazz aren't doing so well this year, I think it's still fun to go to the games and eat gross cheese fries and nachos:)
