Nursery here I come!!

Jared went to Nursery for the first time on Sunday March 27.  When we first walked in, he got shy and buried his face in my shoulder.  I told him that he would be playing with toys and have a treat!  That perked him up a little.  They start out with treats, so I sat him at the table and he got so excited.  I gave him a kiss and left.  He never even turned around!  I was sort of in depression for the rest of my meetings because I missed him.  (I know, I am the strangest mom ever!  I couldn’t wait for him to be old enough for nursery, and now I want him back!)  When I picked him up they were all playing with a pop-up basketball set and Jared freaked out when he saw me.  I guess it was almost his turn and he was trying to get some balls.  He showed me his mad dunking skills, gave me a big hug and was ready to go!  They said he did great!!  He was really really really tired, but there were no fits and he loved it!  I can’t believe how grown up my little handsome man is!

A funny story about his outfit.  During Sacrament meeting, he was not doing so well and I took him out into the hall.  A dad and his son from the other ward came along and waited there for the rest of their family.  The boy was about 5 or 6 and the dad started pointing out Jared’s pink shirt to him and saying doesn’t he look handsome?  The mom came along and started doing the same.  She told me that this little boys grandma had just sent him a pink Sunday shirt and the little boy refused to wear it because it was a girl color.  But after seeing my handsome little man in a similar color the little boy agreed that it was very handsome and he would wear his pink shirt next week!  Jared is just such a fashion forward little man!!

When I read that title I thought YOU had been called to nursey! I'm glad it's just your little one who is headed there. I can't believe he did so well, I have been in the nursery and experienced MANY meltdowns and tantrums. Way to go on a smooth transition!

Isn't nursery nice?! I'm getting more and more excited for July so that my little one can join the ranks of nursery as my friend's kids are getting into it too and I fantasize about actually listening in church! LOL. I'm so glad Jared's first day in nursery went so well and he does look quite dashing in his cute pink shirt!
