On Day 2 of Spring Break the kids wanted to make a plaster alphabet with a kit I had. Unfortunately, I hadn’t ever opened it, so I hadn’t read the instructions, and the molds had to set for at least 8 hrs. Oops! We should have put them in the molds the night before I guess. Well we made the molds, set them aside to dry and did some other activities.
We had a mani/pedi session for the girls. They loved picking out the color that they wanted. Jared started out being happy playing with blocks, but then he decided he wanted to do what the girls were doing, so we gave him a little pedicure as well. The girls picked out sparkly blue for his toes because it was a boy color! He giggled the whole time I was painting. Funny boy! The girls also remembered when I had given daddy a manicure and then hid the polish remover so he had to go to work with his pretty nails the next day. I can’t find the pictures I took of that event, but I’m pretty sure it was several years ago. I had forgotten all about it, but the girls remembered!
Next we played a very very fun game! It’s called “The Anything Auction”. Each of my girls got a plastic sack and I gave them 3 minutes to run around the house and gather any/as many items as they could and then meet me back in the living room. (I told them before we started any off-limits areas, and pointed out some others that were ok that they normally don’t go snooping through) When they got back we started our auction.
I found the idea on Familyfun.go.com and there is a list of things with point values. So I would say, “Who has something completely round?” And whoever did would get 10 points. Everything on the list is completely random and there are even some things twice and others with negative points! My girls went CRAZY for this game! We played it over and over and over. You are probably thinking how crazy I am and how my house must have been a real mess after, but this was the genius of the game. When the round was over, they would race to put everything away while I added up the points. Whoever put their items away the fastest got 10 bonus points!! They still talk about this game and want to play it all the time. I think it will be a regular “boredom buster” in our house!!
After our afternoon naps and before dance that night, we had a Silly String fight!! The kids got cans of silly string last month at their cousin Torie’s birthday party, but we hadn’t got to use them yet. It was absolutely HILARIOUS watching them!! It took them all a while to figure out how to really push it to get string out. Then they had a blast running around the yard and chasing each other with it!!
When all the silly string was gone, I made them scurry around and clean it all off the grass! hehe!!
Another great day with great fun!!

I love the auction idea, it sounds so fun and best of all, it's free! Way to be creative Charisse!
