Day 4 started out with “Grandma’s Easter Candy Making Party”. She made a bunch of batches of rice krispy treats and the kids made nests with jelly bean eggs, krispy eggs with sprinkles and bunnies.
It was fun to hang out with our cousins.
Make yummy treats
And eat, of course! (Do you see Jared’s krispy beard in the 2nd picture?)
In the afternoon we made Oobleck. Have you ever hear of Oobleck? Apparently it’s from a Dr. Seuss book, but I have never heard of it. It sounded fun though, so we made some.
Oobleck: 1 cup water, 3 drops food coloring, 2 cups cornstarch (mix in that order)
It gets pretty hard to mix so we used our hands. When it is done, it is very thick. When you pour it off a spoon it acts like a liquid…
But if you hit it hard with your fist, it acts like a solid.
It was a pretty messy activity, but the girls loved to see the reactions it had.
Jared was happy playing with GAK!
We had fun making Oobleck, but it really made a HUGE mess! The girls were awesome though and helped clean it all up! We just threw the Oobleck away when we were done. Easy enough to make again!
