*Spring Break 2011* {day 5}

When I asked my kids what they wanted to do for Spring Break, they all said they wanted to go to a park.  The week ended up being pretty cold and rainy, so I didn’t know if we were going to be able to.  On Friday though, we woke up to sunshine!  Still kind of cold, but at least there was sun.

We packed up a picnic lunch and headed to the park!  We just went to the tiny neighborhood park close to our house.  Partly because I like that it is small and I can easily keep an eye on my kids, and partly because I had another surprise for my kids…

They absolutely LOVED playing at the park!  It was so nice to be outside and running around!

The swings were for sure a favorite all around!

They loved climbing around on everything there!

We had our little lunch, and then played a little more.  They didn’t want to go when I called them, but when I told them I had the biggest surprise of all for them, they quickly came.  I had them choose between Birds and Bunnies.  They chose Birds.  What exactly was Birds though???

RIO!

They were so excited when I told them they got to go to a movie in the theater!  I took them to the dollar store first and they each got to pick out their own box of theater candy.  I made sure they all knew that once theirs was gone, they didn’t get any more, then we headed to the theater.

The movie was in 3-D and the girls thought it was pretty neat to have those fun glasses!!

Lily and Jared didn’t keep theirs on, but oh well, they still enjoyed the movie.  It was my first 3-D movie too.  I loved watching in it 3-D but I hated the glasses.  They were annoying and kept falling off my face.  I would go see another one though.

I was a little nervous about the time of day I took them.  The earliest movie showing was 1:00pm, a.k.a. naptime.  They all did pretty good though.  There were a couple of moments of screaming from Jared and Lily got restless near the end and started hopping on and off her chair, but I think for the most part they did great.  They also all zonked out as soon as we got home!

I had such a fun time with my kids this week.  Sure there was fighting.  Yes, there was more chaos than normal.  Of course there were times I wanted to pull my hair out in frustration!  But overall I got to spend 5 wonderful days completely with my kids.  I was actually really sad when Monday rolled around again and the girls were back in school.  I hope they had a good time and know that their mommy loves them and loves to spend time with them!!  I am really looking forward to summer and some of the super fun activities we will get to do then!!

You are such an inspiration to me of what a good mom is! You're amazing! Who would have thought of having 5 whole days of fun activities planned for their kids' Spring break? I have a hard enough time figuring out a fun activity on an ordinary day! I hope someday to be as good of a mom as you are. You Rock!
