We had a great time this Father’s Day celebrating our Father’s. We are both so grateful for our great dad’s and the example they are to us! We love them both so much!
I am also grateful for my sweetheart who is the best daddy to our kids. He is a wonderful support to me and our family! I am so grateful for how hard he works for our family. I love being able to spend time with him and love to SPOIL him on his special day!
The girls each had a special gift for dad that they made in Primary.
Michaela drew this picture of Jason, but she said she messed it up. (It looks kind of like a horse! Too cute!)
Jared gave daddy THE most ADORABLE tie EVER!! It had a stud muffin little picture of Jared on the bottom and he got to decorate the rest of it with stickers!
Jason got his Father’s Day gift (a new laptop) a few months early, but we wanted him to have something on his day, so we gave him socks, new clothes and a new grill cleaner.
We let him relax and enjoy his day. Savannah and Michaela even gave him a foot rub!!
I wanted dinner to be super special. I usually ask him what he wants, and we end up with Papa Murphy’s pizza. (Which we all love, so that’s great!) But this year I wanted to do something a little different, so I didn’t even ask him. After opening gifts, he asked about dinner, and I told him I was so sorry, I had completely forgot! I had meant to ask him what he wanted, but kept forgetting. I could tell he felt a little bad about this, but I told him I would come up with something, like maybe a pasta salad.
He went and watched a movie with the kids, and I worked on dinner. Of course, I didn’t really forget, I had a secret that had been sitting hiding in the fridge for two days! Over Memorial Day, my brother-in-law Alan made us some AMAZING BBQ chicken, and Jason has been raving about it and telling me I really needed to get the recipe. So I did!
Even though he is the MASTER GRILL CHEF at our house, I didn’t want him to have to do it on Father’s Day, so I stood out in the DOWNPOUR with my little umbrella grilling up his chicken! It was so crazy and fun at the same time!
I even bought him his favorite drink, COKE that I NEVER buy.
When he sat down, the first thing he saw was his Coke, and he was excited, realizing that maybe I hadn’t COMPLETELY forgotten about him.
Then he saw the container of chicken. Let’s just say he was BEYOND thrilled!
SAVORING the flavor!
I also made a pasta salad and corn on the cob. It was a very yummy dinner!
For dessert, I took the easy, but yummy way out with Root Beer Floats. Of course, with his beloved Coke in the house, Jason opted for a Coke Float.
Happy Father’s Day babe!!! We love you so so much!!!!

You held out on me...I thought you said JASON would be grilling his father's day chicken.
I know, I felt too bad asking him, so I did it myself!
Ooooooh, you're so sneaky! And I think you maybe need to post that chicken recipe ASAP. With a reaction like that, I am dying to try it!
