Conference Weekend

I know it’s been a while since conference, but I am kind of behind on my blogging right now.

We had such a great weekend together with our family.  We mostly just stayed at home together, but Savannah and I did get to go to the Saturday Afternoon session.  We started our little mom & daughter date by going to TGI Friday’s for lunch.  Savannah had a free kid’s meal from school for reading.

It was so yummy!  We both got Strawberry Lemonade’s, and it was BY FAR the BEST one I have ever had!  I hope she gets another meal from Friday’s so we have an excuse to go back!

Then we headed down to the Conference Center.  We ended up getting shuffled into this “common line” instead of our assigned door.  It seemed like it would take forever, but we eventually got in.  (little side note: my belt buckle set off the alarm and I had to get re-scanned!  Luckily, no pat down was necessary!)

After Conference, we went out onto the terrace and looked at the beautiful temple!

Both as we were walking to and from the Conference center, we saw/heard protesters.  Savannah asked about them, and I tried to explain why they did what they did, without really understanding it myself.  When we teach such a tolerance for others, it’s a hard thing to explain to a little child why others don’t, and feel the need to yell at us about the differences.

As we were preparing to cross a street, the crosswalk light changed to the red blinking hand, and one protester yelled that we would all be breaking the law if we went into the street.  I wonder if he noticed the cop that was directing the traffic, and motioning us all to continue on…

All in all, it was a great day out with my little girl.  We both really enjoyed all of the talks, and the time together.

That evening, after the Priesthood session, we met Jason, David and my dad along with my mom and Megan at Iceberg.  We keep saying that it’s ok if the guys just want to make it their own thing again, but I think they just love having us all around!  My kids for SURE look forward to this little tradition.

We had a fun time laughing and eating!

I always look forward to Conference weekend.  I love spending the whole weekend with my family close.  I really enjoyed all of the talks, and love how I always feel like the messages were just for me!

I hate that there are protestors, they always make me feel so anxious. I'm sure it was tough explaining to her who they are and why they were there.

And on a separate note, your outfit from conference was stunning! I love the big flower, it's so stylish and trendy. Cute, cute, cute!
