I could hardly believe that it was already this time of year! Although I always look forward to Summer, I also get a little sad when the end of a year comes. I just want these sweet girls to stay little!!
They were certainly excited for the Last Day of School!
Once we dropped them off, my mom came over and she and I and my two little ones headed up to Layton to meet my sister at Krispy Kreme. Why would we make such a random trip? Because of National Donut Day, of course!! My kids loved watching the donuts be made and could have stood there all day!
The only thing to possibly get them away from the window was their very own dount to eat!!!
Thanks mom and Amber for a wonderfully random trip!
We spent the afternoon getting everything ready for our party after school.
It was finally time to get the girls from school and Lily and Jared were both SO excited!!! Oh, you don’t think Jared looks excited? Maybe because he would rather be running in that great big field!
We got a picture with each of their teachers. Michaela & Ms. Friddle; Savannah & Ms. Ramsay. I know I have said it before, but we love love LOVED their teachers this year! The girls are glad they will both still be at Vista next year so they can wave and say “hi”, but we are sure going to miss such great teachers!
These two have really become fun buddies this year. They have really watched out for each other and have loved supporting each other in the fun things they have gotten to do. I have enjoyed watching both of them grow and learn!
We headed on home to our “WELCOME TO SUMMER” party!!!!!! Jared and Lily helped me with the sign. Lily had so much fun drawing all of the people in our family, and Jared really loved drawing snakes. (even though he would immediately scream “SNAKE!”) I originally was going to make the sign so they could run through it, but then it turned out so cute and I didn’t want to ruin it. I will have to remember not to make it cute next time! ;)
I had a fun little set up with our party fun!
Donuts! Of course!!
And yes, mom and I came up with the little play on words on our way home!
I had a movie bucket ready for them with lots of yummy treats and a couple movies. I also had my gift to all of them-the cute shovels!
The kids were excited by everything!
We started with a donut! We then watched one of the movies.
We had some friends over and made snow cones!!
And we got our garage door spring replaced! Oh wait. That wasn’t part of the party. But it happened. And I was happy!
When daddy got home, we grabbed some KFC and went to the park. We loved eating, playing and people watching. We were at a different Jordan Parkway park, and there are some WEIRD parkway runners (or not). (See exhibit A in the picture of me. Who runs or walks without moving their arms?! Srsly! You look like the walking dead!)
Daddy and Michaela had fun being tricksters.
Savannah turned into a scooter model.
Lily made silly faces.
And Jared just ran and played and got out all of that little boy energy. Well, maybe not ALL…
We ended our perfectly perfect “WELCOME TO SUMMER” party while watching the 2nd movie together and eating our snacks.
We are looking forward to this fabulous summer and all of the fun things we have planned!!! Happy Summer everyone!
