We had a great Memorial weekend! The weather was perfect, the company was fantastic, and the food was fabulous!
We hung out with some friends from Jason’s work on Friday night. They have one little boy, and Jared was in boy heaven seeing all of the cars, superhero’s and Star Wars stuff in one house! (Not one doll in sight!!) They made us a yummy dinner and then we played the night away on Rock Band. Our kids sure had a blast, and I hope they weren’t TOO overwhelmed with all of our crazy kids!!
(for some reason, I only took ONE picture. LAME. At least it’s of some pretty handsome dudes!)
Monday morning, we enjoyed the day with Daddy off work, and grabbed some bagels before heading to the parkway. We had a yummy breakfast, and played a little on the playground before going on our adventure down the parkway.
The girls all loved riding their scooters, and could have gone on FOREVER, but we finally made them turn around. Jared enjoyed his view from the stroller, but I am sure it won’t be long before he is trailing after the girls as well!
We rested up that afternoon, and then headed up to the Madsen’s for a fun BBQ that night. We finally drug out the headphones in our car for the kids, and it was kind of nice to just be able to have our own conversation without the movie background noise. It was pretty hysterical listening to Lily asking a million questions about the movie, like she always does, and nobody could hear her!!
We had lots of yummy food. (Don’t all of those dishes with LIDS on them look super appetizing!?! What a lame picture I took! The food was all fantastic.)
I even made flag cookies with pop rocks on them! (Pinterest, of course.) The pop rocks were fun, but since the contact with the wet frosting made them start popping right away, they kind of just fizzled into the frosting. Oh well. They looked pretty patriotic!
The men all drooled gathered around Alan’s new grill.
We enjoyed fabulous company.
And did some goofing around as well!
(Why is Dave always in the goofing around pics?)
Thanks to the Madsen’s for hosting all of us!
It was a great weekend and a fun kickoff to Summer!
