Our Super Dad!!

We had an AWESOME time celebrating Father’s Day this year.  We, of course, had our little canyon excursion, and later that day took a little goodie to each of our dads.

Then, on Sunday, we celebrated our favorite Superhero!  The kids and I had such a great time getting everything ready for our fun little celebration.  I know guys are not really into everything “cutesy”, but we were just having too much fun getting ideas, so we totally made decorations for our “party”!

The girls told me, as we were setting up, that dad needed a super hero cape.  They then ran into our dress ups and found their Snow White cape to use for it.  They made daddy close his eyes while they tied it on and led him into the kitchen…

Where he was SUPER surprised by everything!

The girls each wrote him letters which he read first, and then we gave him his Super Hero Survival Kit!

He was pretty excited with it!

We then gave him the rest of his SUPER gifts!

Then, it was on to our most FAVORITE gift of all…..his very own SUPER HERO COMIC!  Written and illustrated by our kids!!!

The kids and I had SO. MUCH. FUN. making this book, and the girls were all excited for daddy to see their pictures and know which parts of the story they though of!  This is probably our most favorite gift EVER!  Jason said it was better than his new running shoes!

We then served him a yumm-o meal we prepared for him.  I even grilled everything for him!  (pretty much the ONLY time I attempt grilling!)

After dinner, we headed outside to play a few Super Hero games!  (I KNOW, I am super lame, but we had a THEME to uphold!)  We actually had a ton of fun with these.  First, we challenged dad to crumple 5 full sheets of newspaper with his arm extended.  According to what we read, “dad” is not supposed to be able to do it.  Well, now we have PROOF that our dad is a Super Hero, because he did it!!!

075

Then we knocked down Forces of Evil with our Super Flying disks!

For our next activity, we needed balloons, and while we were blowing all of them up, Jared popped his, and was so so sad.

Once everyone had their balloons, we used our Super Strength to pop them.

For our last Super activity, we all got our Super Webs…

And shot them at all of the villains who were hiding out in our yard!

Sometimes, a Super-Hero-in-Training needs a little help!

As dorky as our games kind of were, everyone was all smiles!  Jason told me that it was a lot of fun!

Finally, the best part of any celebration: Dessert!  We made our Super Dad, some Super Hero Cupcakes!!

Do you see this face?  Yeah, he was excited!  Especially when I told him they were Peanut Butter Cup Cupcakes!

We really do love our Super Dad and are so thankful for him!!

I absolutely ADORE this guy!  He is a great husband, and an awesome father!!  We had a great time celebrating him, and I hope he knows how much we love him!!!

Your husband is such a good sport for wearing the little cape and sticking with the theme. Those superhero cupcakes are my favorite part! So, so, so cute!!
