At the Drive In

We’ve been busy crossing things off of our Summer Bucket List.  We managed to cross two off with one shot:

#15: Go to the Drive In & #23: Go see Brave

It was a great night for the drive in!  We went the opening night of Brave, and while it was crazy busy, we were one of the first ones in, and were able to snag a really great spot!  Then, we had lots of time to kill.  We played a Marvel Comics trivia game, and also “The Name Game” which has a bunch of names of real people and made-up people and to try to get everyone else to guess it.  We stuck to the made-up names since there were lots of cartoon characters that my kids knew.  They all had so much fun playing and we played for the entire 1 1/2 hrs while waiting for the movie!!  Jason also brought his laptop and gamed away while we waited!

This was also the first year at the drive-in in our new van.  It was AWESOME!!  We loved folding the rear seats down flat, and turning the front seats around.  Jared and Lily spent the 2nd film up in the tall seats. 

2nd film you ask?  Oh yes, this was also our first year staying for the double feature!!  It was slightly wild, a little bit crazy, and completely NUTS!  But we did it, and it was fun, and we were all a little loony the next day!!  Oh, and in case you wondered, the 2nd film was The Avengers, which my kids were all excited to see, but most fell asleep during.  I also found out, I am not a spring chicken anymore, and I couldn’t make it for the 2nd film either! 

All in all, it was a fun time, and we are loving making the drive-in a Summer tradition!
