My birthday was last week, and it was a great day. I had many birthday wishes given to me by my hubby and kids, family members, phone calls, texts, and even Facebook. I have such great family and friends!
Jason is such an awesome caring husband, and went up and beyond to make my day a truly special one. He started by getting the kids up really early to make me a birthday breakfast in bed! The girls loved helping make me a yummy meal.
They turned it into a “smiling breakfast” and delivered it to me among a chorus of “happy birthday”.
The week before my birthday, while I was at young women’s, he had the kids make a banner for me and color some cards too. He even had them make some birthday videos on my new ipad! Yup, that’s what he got me for my big day! I love it, and have had so much fun playing with it! He even had it shielded with a Zebra print!
Because of all of his doting on me, he was late to work and asked if I could take him. I was going to the City Library book sale that morning with my mom and niece Afton, so we all drove together to take Jason. I ended up sitting in the very back of the van by my sweet little Lily. She was so funny chattering non-stop the whole way there. When we got there I told her “thanks for being my backseat buddy”. She disgustedly told me that she wasn’t a boy. “Buddy” is one of our main nicknames for Jared, and although I tried to explain that it wasn’t just a name for boys, she wouldn’t believe me. So then I just said “well, thanks for being my friend”. She put me in my place though by letting me know, “I’m not your friend! Mom’s don’t HAVE friends!” Oh, well in that case….
Later in the day, Jason called and wanted to take me to lunch. I had three of the kiddos with me, and so we all went and ate at Café Zupas! YUMM!! Jason was taking care of Jared and I brought the food and then went to help the girls get drinks. It was a really crowded lunch hour, and trying to get our drinks ended up being really frustrating. When I got back to the table, I found out that Jason had mistaken my sandwich for his and eaten the whole thing! Luckily, you can’t go wrong with a Café Zupas sandwich, and his was just as yummy as my “usual”!
My fabulous friend Brenda brought me a plate of goodies that I have enjoyed a LOT!
The girls had dance pictures, and then we were able to just relax and be together as a family. The kids loved my new toy just as much as I did! In fact, Jared is quite addicted to “Fruit Ninjas”!
(Look! My ipad matches my Snuggie! How cute!!)
Jason got me a yummy Carrot Cake and ice cream, and we all celebrated together!
Thanks babe for all of the thoughtful little things you did to make my day great!! I love you!!

Your smiling breakfast is actually quite frightening...I think I might have nightmares about it. Still, what sweet girls!
