On the Saturday before Easter, we took our family out to “Jericho” to play with daddy’s family on their motorcycles and 4-wheelers. We had fun hanging out with everyone!
Jared was so excited and spent most of the morning running around from place to place exploring everything. He made sure he always had something in both fists!!
Daddy took all the kids on rides.
These pictures were taken after Daddy left with Michaela on the first ride. In the first one, I asked her to smile and she told me she couldn’t smile because she was so sad. A few minutes later, she told me to take her picture again because she was ready to smile!
My kids also loved playing in the sand. We brought a few buckets and shovels out and they had a blast all day!
Jared was my dirtiest kid. At one point he was throwing the dirt all over himself! Boys!!
It was pretty cold while we were there. I snuggled with my kids a lot!
We had fun snuggling, playing, visiting, and laughing with everybody else there too!
Aunt Carie arranged for us to have an Easter Egg Hunt while we were out there. The kids loved being able to have another one!! The girls took off running to find some eggs.
Jared found some, opened them, let the candy fall into the dirt, and then ate it!
The Egg-Hunters!
After the egg hunt, all the guys and some of the girls went out on a ride. Here is my man!
They hadn’t been gone very long, when a few of them were coming back, Jason included. I didn’t really know what was going on, and then I heard someone say that Jason broke his foot. I went to find out what was going on and saw him hobbling over to a chair. He said he did something stupid and his bike slipped from under him. He landed with all of his weight on the heel of his foot and it was hurting him like crazy! We tried to make him as comfortable as we could and looked at his foot. There was nothing obvious just looking at it, but he said the way it felt, he knew it was broken. So we started rounding up our kids and stuff to drive back home.
Aunt Becky was so sweet to make my kids a little lunch before we headed out. They thought it was neat to have a mini picnic on her floor.
We drove home, praying the whole way. We texted my mom to see if she could watch our kids and when we pulled up to our house, there she was, with pizza to send with us and some for our kids. While I took Jason into the instacare, she gave them baths, fed them, helped them clean up and watched a movie with them. Savannah showed me just how grown up she is getting. While grandma was giving the younger kids baths, she swept and mopped the kitchen—without even being asked!! I love my family so so much! I love that they are all there for us when we need them. I don’t know what we would have done without their love and support and help!
Miraculously, we found out there were no broken bones in Jason’s foot. Just some severely bruised tendons. He is still pretty tender, but his foot is healing. We were sad that our trip had been cut a little bit short, but we are very grateful that it wasn’t something more!

Poor Jason:( Tell him not to be such a clutz next time.
Tell Jason to get better soon! Mobility is something that when it's gone really drives you crazy. I'm so glad for you that you have such a great family that's always there for you!
