Mother’s Day Weekend

I had such a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend and was super spoiled by my family!

Jason took me out for Mother’s Day and my birthday.  I had a free meal from Temple Square Hospitality and we chose to eat at “The Garden”.   The food was so yummy!

We had an Artichoke Dip appetizer.

Jason had the Chicken Parmesan.  He let me have a bite and it was DIVINE!

014

I had the Salmon with a Soy Citrus Sauce.  Also quite DIVINE!

015

We loved our meals and the fun garden environment of the restaurant.  Also, the view was pretty great too.

016

(Oh, and I got a haircut right before our night out!)

017

Our meals came with a dish of Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and our choice of sauce.  I got raspberry and Jason got Chocolate.

018

We tried to pose in front of the windows overlooking the temple, but it was hard to take that picture of ourselves…

We spent a few minutes walking around the temple grounds and seeing all of the pretty flowers.  It was so fragrant, and we could smell the wonderful perfume of the flowers all around.

We took a few more pictures and then headed to the temple for a wonderful end to our date!

The next morning was Mother’s Day.  When I got up to help the kids with breakfast, Jason was still in bed.  I was kind of a little put out that he wasn’t getting up and kind of wondered if he forgot what the day was.  When he asked me if I would get him some Tums, I was REALLY annoyed, and rolled my eyes all the way out to the kitchen where I saw THIS little set up:

He took our digital picture frame (that has been in the box since we got it for Christmas from my parents because we couldn’t figure out how to load pictures onto an SD card) and with the help of his new laptop- that has an SD slot- loaded pictures of the kids and me and set to play.  He put it next to my BRAND NEW CAMERA, with a cute note saying “You’ve made some wonderful memories, now go make some more!  We love you!”  Isn’t he so cute!?!  I loved it!!  The “Tums” thing was just his way to get me to go look in the kitchen.

My girls all made me a bunch of cards for Mother’s Day the night before with our cute babysitter.  I loved every one!

We made cinnamon rolls for breakfast.  Yum!

And had a wonderful day at church.  All THREE girls got to sing to me, which I absolutely LOVED!  When I was talking to Lily about singing in Sacrament, she told me, “oh yeah, mom, I am going to sing you ‘Jesus Wants me for a Sunbeam’ and ‘Twinkle Little Star’”.  All of my kids came home with more cards and notes and treats for me.  They were all so wonderful and really made it a happy day.

Jason let me chill, while he made all the meals and took care of the kids.  I basically hung out on the couch with a blanket and my ipad while he brought me yummy food to eat!

We dropped by my moms for a really quick minute to give her an apron.  Jason’s mom wasn’t home, so we dropped by her house a little later in the week, but I forgot to get pictures there.  We gave her an apron too.

Oh, look! Here I am again, in a slightly different position, but on the same couch, with the same blanket and my Ipad and food. haha!!

Then I had fun experimenting with my new camera.  I love all the fun features it has and how nice the pictures are!  Savannah loves to model for me and I have lots of funny pictures of her!

What a great day!  I am so grateful for the mother’s in my life, especially my own mom and what a great example of patience and love she is.  I love being a mom and am so grateful to my wonderful kids who bring so much joy into my life!  And I am very grateful for my eternal sweetheart who does so much for me and is my perfect other half!!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mothers in my life!
