On Wednesday, we decided we needed to stay home all day and clean our house and rooms so we would be ready for school. But that doesn’t mean we didn’t still have some fun! Way back at the first of the summer, when the girls were in swim lessons, there was a day that no swim teacher ever showed up for Lily’s class. To make up for it, they gave us swim passes for our entire family to use this summer. We have been gone so much, that we haven’t had the chance yet, but decided we’d better use them!
The girls were excited to go back to the rec pool. We, of course, have been swimming a lot this summer, but Savannah and Michaela couldn’t stop talking about the diving board and were excited to try them again. They did awesome, and then they decided to try the HIGH DIVE!! The high dive TERRIFIES me! (I know all of the kids from youth conference will be SHOCKED by this!) But, “no-fear” Michaela climbed up and jumped right in! She then told us “It was AWESOME!!!!”
So she did it again,
and again,
and AGAIN!
Savannah was pretty scared, but did try it once. Unfortunately, it was before I went over with my camera. I begged her to do it again, and Jason finally bribed her with an ice cream cone if she would. So she went up….
and jumped!
Yeah, I am a fabulous mom. She jumped faster than I thought she would, so I wasn’t ready. We then had to bribe her with getting to stay up an extra half hour if she would do it just ONE MORE TIME!
So she did!
And then daddy did!
Jared and Lily loved being in the water and we had a lot of fun jumping in and playing.
Jared loved to jump in to me, but if Jason tried to get him to jump to him, he would freak out and start yelling “NO! GO AWAY!”
I sure do love my momma’s boy!!
We had a great time at the pool!!
On Thursday, I took the kids to Seven Peaks again. We sure had a great summer at the pool!
That night, I got to get away for a little craft session at my sister-in-law Julie’s house. We had great company.
Great food!!
And great entertainment!!
This picture is for Dave. It’s a self portrait.
And I got to come home with a darling temple block! These were so fun and easy, and I really want to do this project with my young women!
Only 2 more days of summer. *sniff sniff*
